Throughout the process of designing a site, the background is one element that tends to change the most and in some cases can affect the look and feel of some designs very much.

Design Tips:
If you're undecided as to which background or style you like for your site you can leave it up to the visitors. With some basic coding, you could allow a visitor to chose a custom style for your site and save it to a browser cookie or user account so they see their choice next time they visit your site.
More advanced coding could make it poll based, tracking what people are setting for their favorite styles and make the majority favorite the default style.
